Rabih shares some songs of his rotation now.
Hello everyone!
This Week's Playlist - Season 2, Episode 39.
Another friend from Paris for this week's playlist. I got introduced to Rabih by Anthony .
I hope you enjoy his selection of 5 songs, and see you next week.
TL;DR: I'm running a musical newsletter with a new guest sharing 5 songs each week.
There is a YouTube link for each of the songs on the cover, and here are the playlists for each streaming platform:
Tidal (coming soon)
Deezer (coming soon)
Guest of the week: Rabih Gebeile
Mar7aba! It is my pleasure to share with you 5 songs that I can’t get out of my head these days. They’re not particularly new, but you know how it is sometimes, when you rekindle the flame with old musical obsessions. In fact for me, each of these songs have that distinct eargasm quality to them.
So my name is Rabih, I’m an uprooted Lebanese musician. After Backbone Party, Murmuration and MONDO CANE, I’m currently working on my new electro rock project Sūr, which also happens to be the name of my hometown in Lebanon. Stay tuned and look me up on IG!
Thomas, I’m honoured to be your guest. It’s been a while, I hope I’ll see you again soon!
Links:
1. Son Lux - Pyre
So here’s this amazing song from Son Lux that gives me goosebumps right at the first notes of the choir…
2. Saul Williams - "All Coltrane Solos at Once" (featuring Haleek Maul)
Saul Williams has always been a huge inspiration for me, ever since his album The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust!
Here’s my favourite song from the album MartyrLoserKing.
3. Portishead - Magic Doors
Portishead! Damn I love this song and this album! That bass line, that moody analog sound, Beth Gibbons' voice…
4. DJ Shadow - Nobody Speak feat. Run The Jewels
OK here’s the kind of track when it comes up in your playlist and you’re walking down the street with your headphones on, everything goes slowmo and you just feel coool. What an awesome riff.
5. Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire
First time I heard this band was like a kick in the groin. Hands down, my favourite punk band these days.
Until the next time, Godspeed!
Thomas
