This Week's Playlist #87 - Guest feature: Titus d'Enfer
Titus d'Enfer shares 5 of his inspiration bands.
Hello everyone!
This Week's Playlist - Season 2, Episode 35.
Another musician from Paris for this week's playlist. I saw Mickäel first on stage with Parween, his previous band, and then on his own. I was mesmerized by his stage presence and high level of energy.
I hope you enjoy his selection of 5 songs, and see you next week.
TL;DR: I'm running a musical newsletter with a new guest sharing 5 songs each week.
There is a YouTube link for each of the songs on the cover, and here are the playlists for each streaming platform:

Guest of the week: Titus d’Enfer
I am Mickäel. I come from Paris and have a musical project called “Titus d'Enfer”. It's more of experimental Pop. I've been making music since my teenage years. I've been heavily influenced by rock and metal. I even played in bands like Parween and Altess.
Books play a significant role in my creative process because I sing in French. My passion for literature is central to my approach to songwriting. I've even turned it into a profession as a rare book librarian.
Here, I will mainly write about the artists who have influenced me.
Links:
1. At The Drive-In - One Armed Scissor
A band that influenced me a lot as a teenager and still today. I remember the first time I listened to them; it was on a freebie CD with a music magazine. Cedric Bixler's singing style blew me away. Timeless band.
2. Amanda Woodward - La Decadence de la Decadence
I was so thrilled to discover a rock/screamo band with French lyrics that resonated with me. In addition to incredible music, especially the guitars, the songwriting had a genuine depth that could only please me. I really wish the band would reunite!
3. Corridor - Topographe
A Montreal-based band that also sings in French, which I first discovered live when I lived in Quebec in 2014. I loved the dreamy vocal lines submerged in shoegaze guitars.
I am looking forward to their next album, scheduled for spring 2024.
4. Neurosis - Under the Surface
I remember the first time I listened to "Time of Grace". I felt like turning off the lights and lying in the dark. I had never heard anything like it. The album is from 1999, but I still enjoy listening to it.
5. Animal Collective - Grass
This is a band with an incredible sonic freshness. There's a "Beach Boys on Drugs" vibe that could only enchant me. Panda Bear, the solo project of one of the band members, is also very good.
Until the next time, Godspeed!
Thomas
