This Week’s Playlist - Season 2, episode 15.
Spring is here, the sun has (finally) arrived in London, and, more important: the NBA basketball playoffs have started, so I'm pretty hyped (Go Knicks!). So I might do another basketball playlist to celebrate.
Back to our weekly featured guest, this week with an old friend of mine (we have known each other since Lebanon - cf the timeline in his playlist), and we went to innumerable gigs and music festivals across Europe (and even America).

Hi there - happy to be featured in my Thoomix's incredible effort to provide fresh new sound weekly! I'm taking this very seriously. Music has always been part of me and has defined me from an early age. I've been to countless gigs and am always eager to share and discover new artists. The theme for the shared playlist is going to be "travelling". As I lived and worked in 6 different countries, music has always supported me through these changes, and I've enjoyed discovering local artists.
One thing I thought about doing here is sharing 1 artist and tune from each time period and country of my life. Thanks for sharing this life revival through music with me & enjoy the ride!
1. Lyon / France / Noir Désir - Le Vent Nous Portera
I Grew up in Lyon, France - shaped by Pearl Jam but also the French band "Noir Désir", among others, with “Le Vent Nous Portera” (The wind will carry us).
2. Beirut / Lebanon / Rabih Abou-Khalil - Sahara
I spent 3 years in Lebanon connecting back to my roots, and fell in love musically with Rabih Abou-Khalil.
3. Paris / France / Mogwai - Two Rights Make One Wrong
I went back to Paris for University, and there I completely fell for PostRock with Godspeed or here - Mogwai / Two Rights Make One Wrong.
4. Norway / Esbjorn Svensson Trio - Mingle in the Mincing-Machine
I went to Norway to complete my PhD and explored the Nordic Free Jazz, for example, with Esbjorn Svensson Trio (they are from Sweden but share the same Scandianian jazz spirit).
5. Cagliari / Sardinia / Paolo Conte - Via con me
After 3 year in the far North, I needed some Sun&South and worked as a PostDc in Cagliari - Sardegna. There we had many local music parties with Pino Daniele, and also here I want to share Paolo Conte - Via con Me .
6. Switzerland / Emilie Zoé - Sailor
It's been >10 years since I'm settled in Switzerland now ... but I don't know if I can share 10 artists from this country - pretty sad, although there have been a few exceptions recently with small bands coming up, such as Peter Kernel, or here Emilie Zoé.
