This Week's Playlist #106 - The Most Anticipated 2024 albums edition.
This week, here are 5 tracks of the albums I'm looking forward to for the first half of 2024.
Hello everyone!
This week’s playlist S03E02 :-)
This week, here are 5 tracks of the albums I'm looking forward to for the first half of 2024.
I hope you enjoy and see you next week

TL;DR: I'm running a musical newsletter with a new guest sharing 5 songs each week.
There is a YouTube link for each of the songs on the cover, and here are the playlists for each streaming platform
1. Kiledjian - Nioloti (ft. Cindy Pooch)
I've been following David Kiledjian for 15 years and am excited by his first solo album.
David comes from and draws inspiration from his Armenian and French roots. With a background in saxophone and piano, he brings a unique crossover of jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music in his unique style.
His first solo album, "The Otium Mixtape", is an ode to the spirit of creative free time in reference to the notion of creative and studious idleness promoted as an art of living in ancient Rome.
New album: "The Otium Mixtape", out on January 19th
2. IDLES - Grace
The Bristol punk rockers are back with a new album later in March.
The single “Grace” is a relatively new approach for the band, with an interesting slow-burn vibe in opposition to their more in-your-face previous work.
3. Jonathan Hultén - The Well
A standalone single with the hope of a new album soon.
Jonathan Hultén played for 16 years in a death metal band (Tribulation). He went for a solo career playing folk/prog songs somewhere between Nick Drake, Sufjan Stevens & Wovenhand, and more traditional folk artists such as John Martyn.
He returned this December with a new song titled "The Well" to end 2023 in a poignant and reflective style.
4. Chelsea Wolfe - Dusk
One of the most singular and untypical voices in the goth/darkwave sphere comes back with her first electric album in 7 years, with a new intriguingly titled record centred around "healing, acceptance, catharsis and change".
The first single, "Dusk", brings a smoky trip-hop atmosphere.
New album: “She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She”, out on Feb 4th
5. The Smile - Friend of a Friend
It smells like Radiohead and tastes like Radiohead, with a beefier, groovier sound.
The 2 Radiohead masterminds (Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood) and Tom Skinner on the drums dropped a new single this week ahead of the album being released on Jan 26th.
Until the next time, Godspeed!
Thomas
