Week #21 - The Mother's Day edition & a heavy metal bonus
TL;DR: I'm running a weekly newsletter with 5 songs and a short description, and a matching Spotify playlist if you want to subscribe.
For the non-Spotify readers, there is a Youtube link for each of the songs on the cover.
Hello everyone!
Week 21.
Happy mother’s day today (it’s today in France). So today’s theme is songs or bands with motherhood (or at least a reference to "mother" either in the song title, or album, or the band name :-)).
And as a special treat, 5 more (random) songs from my heavy metal rotation from last month at the bottom of this email.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Higher ground
One of the early bangers from the RHCP, from the album "Mother's Milk"

A brutally honest song and lyrics, acknowledging the things that Tupac’s mother did wrong.
Full album: Me Against The World

The lead singer of the influential horror-punk band Misfits, posing himself as the ultimate the corruptor of sons and daughters :-)
Full album: Danzig

Mother Love Bone - Crown of Thorns
One of the (Seattle based obviously) pioneers of grunge music.
Full album: Mother Love Bone

Heavy metal bonus

MGLA - Exercises in Futility V

Powertrip - Executioner's Tax (Swing of the Axe)

Zeal & Ardor - Götterdämmerung

Behemoth - Ov Fire and the Void
Until the next time, Godspeed!
Thomas
